I love this picture of Ginger, apparently it was taken while she was opening gifts the morning of her wedding! :D

This picture makes me smile!

It has been forever since I last posted! I am really sorry :/

Well now for some Ginger pics! I've completely gotten back into the Fred and Ginger spirit again, and hopefully I can get all their movies from the library again.

Some wonderful person shared this awesome website with me and I found some great quotes about Ginger, from Fred and a lot of others :D

Fred and Ginger mood, I told ya! haha :D

Fred and Ginger on the set of Flying Down to Rio :D

On the set of Carefree..

And now for this awesome website!

And here are a few quotes:

“Ginger was brilliantly effective. She made everything work for her. Actually she made things very fine for both of us and she deserves most of the credit for our success.” -- Fred Astaire, in 1966

"Ginger is the most effective performer I've ever worked with. Ginger's a salesman. She can sell it. She's a showman and an actress. She's quite unique. She's amazing." – Fred Astaire (1952

"When I was working with Ginger, it was like heaven on earth. She had all the talent anybody could have." – Fred Astaire

"Ginger Rogers ... was [Astaire's] greatest partner. Have we seen the complexity of romantic ecstasy, joy, bravery, or disappointment and desperation better rendered than in "Cheek to Cheek", "They All Laughed," "Let's Face the Music and Dance," and "Never Gonna Dance"? No actress has ever been better at communicating the mood to be wooed and the levels of sheer amazement felt when observing a man become magnetic." -- Stanley Crouch, 2006

And now after an EXTREMELY long post :P haha here is the link to a video I made, I hope you all like it!

  1. Im IN LOVE with the last pic (everyone knows of my love for Barkleys). THe first pictre is great too! Forget going to the library - get your own copies! Check out or go to Costco they have the full set of 10 for 46 dollars! Saw it today and if I didnt have copies of all 10 already I would have picked it up!

  2. Great stuff, as usual, Anna! I haven't seen but a few of these before - great ones! Yeah, the 'walking the lion' pic is one I would luv as a poster...hmmm '', eh? is that a site to buy stuff? Ho-ho DID bring me a few greenbacks I need to get rid of... :-]
And yep, the very last one is cool, too...reminds me of the last scene of TopHat, which is one of my favorite 'exit scenes' for them, just shuffling down the stairs like ONLY they could... heck, I like the NEXT to last one, where they are a good bit older...funny that there are some sort of feathers on her dress there...that's probably what Fred is saying to her there ("...what's with you and the feathers? ALWAYS the feathers!"), and why she is laughing! :-)
Some of the first pics appear to be 'pics of pics'... are those from your personal collection? I have some I need to 'catalog', but there are gobs more out there for purchase... I could just break the bank purchasing Gingerbilia... sigh...

Well, thanks, Anna! Hope you get the GandF box set - it is DEFINITELY worth it! I had to buy my mom one LAST Christmas, cause she kept borrowing MY copies!!!

Hope you have a great New Years, Anna!!!

  3. SG: Hahaha Isn't an awesome picture? I was ecstatic when I found it! :D Wow that would be awesome...thanks for the suggestion! :D

VKMF: hahahaha I hope you do get it! :D Yeah you know it does...maybe they were doing that on purpose! I think it would be awesome if they were :D

Oh I wish I knew what he was saying to her in that picture...wouldn't it have been FANTASTIC to see them together in real life? AHH! haha XD
No, not from my personal collection unfortunately :( It's from other people's! haha XD

I hope I can too! And thank you very much! :D

  4. I love these! I really like the Flying Down to Rio ones. I've never seen the one of her on the plane before. Super cute!

  5. Sally: Great! I know right? I love seeing Flying Down To Rio pics, they are just so cute and young! Haha :D
