I am sooooo sorry!!
I have been completely neglecting this blog, and not even answering back to comments :(
But, I finished Ginger My Story and I LOVED it! Especially the chapter about the date with Fred ;) HAHA It was so cute!! :D The story about the bull fighting was....HORRIBLE! I felt so bad for Ginger :/
Well, I have now seen all the Ginger movies except for The Confession and Hat Check Girl, but I don't think ANYONE has seen Hat Check Girl :/ so I only have 1 left! :D
And, this is my new favorite quote :D
"Perhaps I am old fashioned, but black and white
movies still hold a special place in my heart; They have an
incomparable mystique and mood." Ginger Rogers
I doubled the amount of pictures cause I owe them to you all! Haha :D

Welcome back stranger! Great pics! Glad you enjoyed the book! Okay no more exclamation points...
ReplyDeleteSG: heeey! Thank you :D Haha I will try to comment/post/GET ON! more often :D HAHA :D
ReplyDeleteHey Anna! Great pics :) I agree, that bull fighting story was horrible. I felt like crying for Ginger :( Glad you liked the book. Hope you get to watch "The Confession" soon :D
ReplyDeleteGreat to see ya back in action, Anna!!! I hope to get some stuff on G-ology tomorrow, with the 3-day weekend... LOVE the pics! Especially the Rafter Romance 'stocking line'... cute!
ReplyDeleteAlso glad to hear you enjoyed Ginger's bio... there's so many cool stories in it, you can go over it quite a few times and not get everything... it's amazing who all she knew... and it is very cool that she doesn't really have any harsh words for anyone...even folks like Sandrich, and her goofy hubbys... she seems to try to find the 'up' side of any situation...
Keep on keepin' it Gingery, Anna!!!

oh P.S... 'the Confession', while required viewing for G-ologists for the mere fact Ginger is IN it, is to me probably the worst film she was a part of... everything you've read about it is true... but, even IT has a few fair spots in it... but Ginger as a Madam is just kinda weird... STILL hope ya get to see it, tho... I bought a copy from Amazon... yup, I'm a card-carrying G-ologist, for sure... :-]

Huey, If you watch the Confession with just Ginger's storyline its not her best work but its a cute storyline and turns into a 30 minute movie! You could almost do that since the two of them rarely interact with the other characters.
ReplyDeleteyeah, it's neat to see Ginger and Ray back together... they were pretty cool together. Of course, I ALWAYS focus on the Ginger scenes, and for the 'non-Ginger' scenes... well that's what the 'advance' button on the remote is for, right? :-]
ReplyDeleteDesarae:Thanks! I knooooow!! It was horrible :/
ReplyDeleteYeah me too, hopefully I can watch it this week :D
Huey: Hey! Haha thanks :D Really? can't wait :D I knoow! I love that picture :D Indeed! It was a very clean book, which was surprising, cause usually books like that have lots of bad words. I have read it about 3 or 4 times already :P hehe
Oh I know. I'm not to enthusiastic about watching it, but it's my last Ginger movie!!! Hahaa :D
...well, Ginger really was a 'good girl', as my Ma likes to call her... so the few spots she DOES use 'strong language' (which even THEN is jsut a 'heck' or 'dang'...paraphrasing here...), you KNOW she is pretty miffed about a certain issue... but yes, she somehow 'adapted' to the Hollywood scene, and kept her standards... was she perfect? Well...OF COURSE! Well, MAYBE she had a few minor issues, but too minor to mention...only her Cabana Boy knows for sure... :-]
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I think that is why I 'admire' her, or am just honestly so nuts about her - she stayed true to herself, and it seemed for the most part she got along with everyone...of course there are always impossible situations, but we ALL have those, right?
yeah, check the movie out... it is ok, just not up to snuff... you know, I bought it early in my 'Gingerology Transformation', just thinking it would be great, since not only Ginger, but also Barbara Eden, who quite frankly, as Jeannie was my FIRST 'crush' or whatever ya wanna call it at age 6 or so... So, HOW could this movie be anything but GREAT? Well... it kinda amazes me, too... but it is watchable...
KIG!
